Responsible for the Data Migration track as part of the implementation of a large-scale Operating Support System / Billing Support System (OSS/BSS). This individual will be expected to ensure the successful conversion of data in the current systems to the new system.

Responsibilities

Delivery and Technical Management
• Lead and manage the entire Data Migration track from inception through to post-live in accordance with the agreed Scope of Work while protecting the interest of the company
• Identify, analyse issues, make recommendations, and escalate issues for resolution in a timely manner
• Partner the incumbent vendors, new vendor, user champions and IT teams in the following:
• Develop the data migration strategy for the conversion of data from the current systems, including standalone files, into the new system
• Prepare and execute data migration plan and Cutover plan
• Oversee the testing of different data loads with a view of identifying underlying issues and remediation plans and follow up to ensure complete closure by the appropriate stakeholders
• Facilitate discussions between the new vendors, incumbent vendors and user champions in the following:
• Data mapping between source and target data sets
• Data conversion requirements
• Ensure data readiness for training, all testing stages, and Cutover
• Lead and coordinate with the user champions, IT peers and IT teams in the following:
• Identify data cleansing rules and methods
• Manage, coordinate and track the data cleansing activities
• Develop Data Templates, Tools and Cleansing guidelines and techniques
• Develop data migration test plan
• Develop the entire Data Migration Work Plan clearly depicts all tasks/activities and the associated target completion dates and owners
• Provide weekly and ad-hoc progress updates
• Ensure that designated IT vendors meet contractual obligations
• Develop approval papers additional data migration services
• Attend to any other reasonable duties as assigned by IT Director

Risk Management
• Manage the Company’s contractual obligations and project budget for Data Migration
• Manage and track the scope, timelines, milestones and committed deliverables closely
• Identify project risks (technical and non-technical) on a continual basis, develop the mitigation plans with the Programme Lead and relevant stakeholders and ensure the timely execution of the risk mitigation plans
• Ensure that data migration risks and potential contingencies impacting time, quality and cost of deliverables are discussed with programme management in a timely manner
• Track and maintain the Action Items log, Issues log, Risk Log for data migration

Stakeholder and People Management
• Manage internal and external stakeholders
• Manage conflicts if and when they occur
• Work with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the interest of NLT is protected
• Obtain stakeholders buy-in of all ideas while ensuring that they are aware of their responsibilities and deliverables, including the associated deadlines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Engineering, Computer Science/Information Technology or relevant discipline
• At least 10 years of in-depth data migration experience as part of large-scale system implementation and software development project experience
• Proven experience in managing large SIs or vendor companies as part of internal IT management
• Ability to strategise, plan ahead and work under pressure
• Positive and assertive personality
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Experience of in cross-functional or matrix team structure in a multi-vendor environment
• Ability to manage vendors that operate across multiple geographical locations
• Strong conflict management skills
• Able to communicate and present clearly, pleasantly and confidently both orally and in writing
• Prior experience with international consulting firms or SIs
• Formal certification in Project Management will be advantageous (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
• Prior experience in OSS/BSS and Telecommunication industry will be advantageous
